Hazardous location lighting must comply with rigorous OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and NEC (National Electric Code) standards.  Light fixtures located in a hazardous location are exposed flammable vapors and liquids where the potential for combustion is possible. Electrical devices in these environments, including luminaires, must be designed for resistance to corrosive elements, flammable vapors and other combustible materials. The KURTZON™ KLX12-S-LED meets strict construction standards for hazardous locations with a one piece, hole free, robotically seam welded housing with flattened, silicone sealed knockouts for a superior seal. The door frame is also one piece with welded corners that overlap the fixture allowing the NSF approved microcellular gasket to seal to the mounting surface. The door frame is supported by aircraft cables and is supplied with captive stainless-steel flush head screws to allow easy wiping of the surface. The fixture includes an NSF Listed closed cell microcellular extruded KleanLock SealPro gasket with vulcanized corners making a one-piece oil and solvent resistant gasket system. The fixture is listed for Class I Division II Groups A, B, C & D hazardous locations, IP66 rated for dust and water ingress and suitable for 1700 PSI high pressure hose downs. It is also ETL listed per UL_1598 for wet locations, Chicago Plenum Rated, certified ISO-14644-1 for class 3 through class 9 clean spaces and certified Fed Std 209E for Class 1 through Class 100,000 clean spaces.
