Company records show that, in the early 60's, Kurtzon Lighting began to apply its design and fabrication skills to the unique needs of the hospital operating room. These spaces have not only special electrical requirements, but also custom installation conditions with close tolerances. An "Off-the shelf" ordinary-location troffer, with a few adaptions added later, will never truly meet the customer's needs in this area. This application requires, to this day, a specialized fixture, custom-manufactured at the factory, built for a particular customer. The Kurtzon "operating room rectangle", as well as the other products seen in the Med Lock section, reflect a company dedicated to the highest standards for the end-user.
